Under the Spell — When an Artwork Moves You Beyond Words

Some artworks are meant to be looked at.
And some are meant to be felt.

I truly believe this: if an artwork doesn’t make you feel something — anything — then let it go.
Art isn’t there just to decorate. It’s meant to create a connection. Sometimes instant, sometimes slow-burning. But always emotional.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed powerful and almost magnetic encounters between my paintings and their collectors.
Moments of deep emotion — often silent, but undeniable.
An instinctive pull, hard to explain, impossible to ignore.
A subtle connection that often grows over time, becoming something quite profound.

A Turning Point on Canvas

Among all the pieces I’ve created, one stands out as a real turning point: Under the Spell.

I painted it right after a major exhibition.
At that time, I felt the urge to breathe differently.
To break free from the structure, to let go of control.
To reconnect with a more raw, spontaneous gesture.

This large abstract piece came to life in a very unique way.
The process wasn’t planned or conceptualized — it was emotional.
Urgent. Honest. Physical.
Something needed to be released, and this canvas became the space for that release.

I didn’t intend for it to mark a shift in my practice — but it did.
Without knowing it, I had opened the door to a new phase in my artistic journey.
One where the senses, the body, and the subconscious took the lead.
More instinct. Less mind.

An Invitation to Feel

Today, Under the Spell is on display at Duvivier Canapés in Paris.
And good news: the exhibition has been extended until January 12th.

📍27 rue Mazarine, Paris 6th
In this beautiful, warm setting, Under the Spell hangs quietly, waiting to do what it was made for: to pull you in.

I don’t think this is a painting you simply “look at.”
You experience it.
You move through it — or maybe, it moves through you.

So if you're curious — or if you're seeking a moment that truly stirs something inside you — come see it for yourself.

And if you’ve already seen it:
I’d love to know what it made you feel.
Even if it's hard to put into words.

Thank you for reading, for looking — and sometimes, for feeling.
