How to Choose an Artwork That Truly Speaks to You
Tips for welcoming a piece of art into your life — not just your living room.
1. Follow your emotion, not the trends
Too often, we think buying art requires "knowledge" or that we should follow current trends.
But the truth is much simpler: art is first and foremost an emotional choice.
Ask yourself:
What drew me to this piece?
What do I feel when I look at it?
Does it bring me peace? Does it stir something inside me?
✨ Art that truly fits you is the one that moves you — even if you don’t know why.
2. Think about where the piece will live
An artwork is a meeting, but also a conversation with a space.
Here are a few questions to reflect on:
Where would you like to place it?
Are you looking for a soft, luminous, or energizing presence?
Is it for a quiet room, a creative space, or a shared living area?
The space matters. It can amplify the artwork’s message — or be transformed by it.
3. Look for personal resonance
Sometimes, we don’t know exactly why a piece touches us — but we feel it echoes something within: a memory, a season of life, a dream, an energy.
What if you allowed yourself to trust that feeling?
💬 “An artwork doesn’t need to be understood to be loved.
It only needs to be felt.”
4. Take your time (but not too much)
It’s natural to hesitate. Letting a choice settle is part of the process.
But sometimes, we wait too long… and the piece finds a new home elsewhere.
If a work keeps coming back to you — days after you’ve seen it — it’s speaking to you.
And that’s often a sign that you’re ready to live with it.
5. You don’t have to choose alone
I often offer personalized conversations with those interested in my work.
Sometimes, just talking helps uncover the piece that’s been waiting for you all along.
💌 You’re also welcome to visit me at my studio in Paris — to see the artworks in person, feel their energy, and explore them in a calm and open space.
Art is an inward journey
Choosing art isn’t a rational act.
It’s about offering yourself something meaningful — a gesture of trust in your intuition.
And if you’ve read this far, maybe a piece is already calling to you.
